Mazda Shinari – Part of the New Kodo Range of Cars
The market will soon be treated to one of Mazda’s latest conquests, which comes in the form of a Coupe styled Sedan and has been given the model name, Shinari. With its striking looks and an extremely aggressive front grille, this is a car that reminds more of an Aston Martin that a new or used Mazda, which is quite the compliment. A four seated vehicle, the Shinari is part of a new design format introduced by Mazda known as Kodo. The exact translation of this new format is “soul of motion” so it looks like “zoom zoom” will be put on the back burner for now. Mazda have long been recognised as an automaker that provides stylish cars but it seems that they have really pushed out the boundaries with the new Kodo theme. The most obvious elements to this are the details that have seemingly gone into the exterior and interior designs, which really do provide that extra buzz. But to say that the Shinari model is all about the looks department would do it an injustice as the features included is just as impressive. With a paddle shifter and three driving modes available, drivers are able to adjust the cars’ settings to meet with their requirements. Unfortunately this particular car is not currently available for purchase as of yet, but rest assured that it will soon become an option for consumers. Regardless of the exact date, this is a car that can definitely relate to the saying “good things come to those who wait”.
Mercedes-Benz CLS – Another Classic in the Making
Mercedes cars have a reputation for being among the very best in the marketplace and this has been the case for a long period of time. Of course in the automotive industry reputation is built by having a series of successful cars introduced over a long period of time. And so it is thanks to models such as the C-Class and SLR-Class that the Mercedes-Benz brand have managed to achieve this. And with the new CLS to be added to the range soon, it looks like this reputation will continue to grow as it is a vehicle that will surely capture the imagination of the general public once more. With an all new outer shell the new CLS has enough to show that this is indeed a fresher version of the original used Mercedes CLS. What it does well is that it contains similar characteristics, which ensures that people know this is indeed a Mercedes-Benz. The car retains its long and extended bonnet, with the frameless side windows that both combine to provide the unique CLS look. The inside of the vehicle has also had a few upgrades such as improvements to the dashboard and the finishes used throughout. It is fair to say that this is a car that is very much a look to the future for the brand and will no doubt stir things up a little when it is indeed released to the general public for purchase. Mercedes say that the new CLS will become a direct competitor of some of the heavyweights in the industry such as the Porsche Panamera and the Jaguar XF – let’s wait and see if this is going to be the case.
Maserati Birdcage – A Sign of the Future
Well this is certainly a car that has the wow factor and in fact, it is probably like no other car ever seen in the automotive industry. The Birdcage from Maserati is almost like a spaceship and appears as though it wouldn’t look out of place on another planet! However, that is not to say that doesn’t look the part; just that it looks very different. Of course, this is only a Maserati concept car and it is not expected that we will see it on the road anytime soon. It was actually designed by Pininfarina (to mark the companies’ 75th anniversary), who as we know, have been responsible for many of the Ferrari car designs over the years. Built on the carbon fibre chassis of the used Maserati MC12 GT1, the Birdcage incorporates the Ferrari Dino engine, which shows yet more Ferrari influence. It is the exterior of the vehicle that is the main talking point though as the design is extremely eccentric. The fact that it has two spoilers situated at the rear of the vehicle is proof of this and to add more glamour, the windscreen covers nearly the whole length of the overall structure. Oh, and one more thing to mention, the entire outer shell is made of the same material as the chassis, carbon fibre. To make this car a reality would be a dream for some but in my opinion, it wouldn’t quite fit into the current market as it is definitely one that has been built beyond its years.
Lotus Evora S – Something Special
For years the brand of Lotus has continuously been in the public eye both on the racetrack and the open road. The used Lotus Evora is one of the cars that have been a big contributor in raising the profile of the latter area (open road) and it seems that things have just got even better for this special vehicle. The car is now available with a 3.5 litre V6 engine (S version) and marks some serious improvements on the original in terms of responsiveness, suspension and overall control. The fact that all new and used Lotus cars already have a worldwide reputation for excellent handling means that the Evora S really must be something special. And the list goes on as the Evora S comes with a sports pack, which has a button that can be used to control the cars’ throttle and exhaust by-pass valve. There are other features that this button offers but the fact that drivers can be in control of such things highlights some of the major changes between the new S version and the older used Lotus Evora. In summary, this is an auto that really does display the new and innovative approach to the future of Lotus cars and as a keen observer, it seems that it will soon become one of the more sought after vehicles in the market. It is the next generation of Lotus cars and the Evora S is very much a step in a new direction that many expect will catapult the brand to new heights.
The Future of Land Rover – The Evoque
Well it seems that Land Rover have certainly raised the bar with this one! The new Evoque model that will soon be added to the ever glowing range of Land Rover cars is on its way and is expected to take the market by storm. Visually stunning and a real head turner, the best way to describe the Evoque is a Coupe on stilts. It marks a real change in direction for LR and offers a totally unique style never before seen in the marketplace. This is a model that has been eagerly anticipated ever since rumours surfaced that a new type of vehicle was going to be introduced by the car making giant. Not available until 2011, Land Rover certainly know how to generate interest and have primarily used the Internet to subtly promote this new innovative and mouth watering design. The Evoque is like no other used Land Rover unit before it and will become the brands’ lightest and most fuel efficient Range Rover ever constructed. With the economy a very important topic of engineering, the Range Rover Evoque will provide 130g/km in terms of Co2 emissions, which is extremely impressive for a vehicle offering such performance. The rumour mill is currently going into overdrive regarding the starting price of this unit; with the majority saying it will cost around 30k. However, with no official confirmation from Land Rover at this point, it is fair to say that this is by no means an accurate and definitive number. I suppose we will all just have to wait until the turn of the year when the marketing and specifications will be unveiled.
Attempting a Long Journey with a Saab Car
Saab, the Swedish car manufacturer, is a brand of cars that quite literally define comfort. Everything about new and used Saab vehicles just ooze with a comforting vibe that really is unmatched by any other manufacturing brand. But why is this? Why are Saab cars so comfy? Well there is no definitive answer but let’s look at things logically; the seating arrangements and quality materials used for the seats are the main area to focus on. So soft and appealing, it is like having a bed within the body of a car! Heated seats and the electronic ability to adjust the overall seating position is another area that proves invaluable to driver and passengers. Also, regardless whether it is a fresh new Saab 9-3 or an old and outdated used Saab from yesteryears, the space given to all occupants is truly amazing. Having experienced firsthand the drama of a long car journey, I for one can attest to just how uncomfortable they can be. However, travelling in style in a Saab auto is a totally different experience and one that should be embraced. The suspension incorporated into the engineering of Saab cars is another possible reason as to why they remain at the top of the comfort charts. A smooth ride enables an all round better drive, and Saab certainly produces this. In m opinion, it is a combination of the above elements that separate Saab as a company from the rest of the competition. You would expect that fir this type of luxury it would cost silly amounts of money, but that is not the case with Saab. And it is this that makes owning one of their vehicles even more worthwhile; knowing that finances was not stretched in order to make the purchase.
Porsche 911 Carrera – The Number 1 Flagship Vehicle
Without doubt, the original used Porsche 911 was the one vehicle that gave Porsche the platform to be where they are today. If there was one car that ever had such an impact on the transformation of a company, then the used Porsche 911 would surely be the leading candidate. So bearing that in mind, Porsche was able to benefit from the success of the 911 style and introduce additional variants that now include the Porsche 911 Carrera. Too be honest, there is not much difference between a new Porsche 911 and a 911 Carrera; the changes are subtle but effective, and to Porsche enthusiasts, they make all the difference. One visible change regarding the exterior is the wider body and wider track at the rear, which provides even more sturdiness to the vehicle. As for the interior, it is typical of Porsche to provide only the very best with a little bit of German charm thrown into the mix. The 911 Carrera has had its entire front dashboard / console redesigned as Porsche decided to revamp what they previously had in the used Porsche 911. Understandably so, this improvement has been a welcomed addition by Porsche enthusiasts and with the new communication management system fitted as standard, this sentiment is shared by me also! With comfort seats that incorporate the memory function, drivers are left to relax so that driving can be the main theme of the journey. The Porsche 911 Carrera, in summary, is a vehicle of the highest quality and therefore commands a quality price. Unfortunately for the average car buyer, even a used Porsche 911 Carrera may well be out of reach. But apart from that – the Porsche 911 Carrera (and its GT variants) is a truly fascinating vehicle with a history that is unmatched.
Peugeot 207 – A Combination of Motion and Emotion
Exterior design must have been something very much on the agenda for Peugeot engineers when they first sat down to create the 207. Whilst immediately after seeing it in the flesh, the car is undoubtedly recognised as being a Peugeot as it has the same characteristics of the famous French automaker. However, it does have some minor distinctions that give it its own identity. This is mainly because of the cars’ front fog lights, which are separated by two gaps. This, along with the 207’s new style bumpers give the vehicle a personality of its own, while at the same time, showing that it is part of the Peugeot family. On the inside there is a panoramic windscreen, which makes for ideal viewing when driving. This is complimented by the overall layout of the dashboard, which is simple, easy on the eye and functional. The 207 certainly gives the essence of having a reformed character and has been refined to reflect the required status of today’s automobiles. It is the small and unique features that normally go unnoticed by critics and drivers alike, but to those with an eye for functionality, it is the little things that add up and help produce a more functional environment. Another area that the new 207 has improved in over the older used Peugeot is in the communications department, which includes the most up to date Peugeot navigation system, the RNEG. Offering a colourful display and with maps that show Europe in its entirety, the RNEG gives drivers the flexibility of being able to travel wherever they want – without getting lost! With so many options like this available for your new or used Peugeot 207, it is looking like this will be one addition to the Peugeot family that will become quite popular among buyers in the market for a new car.

Racing at Heart – The Jaguar XK
A Grand Tourer that combines the unquestionable performance of a Jaguar, which also includes all of the advanced technologies, comes in the form of the XK model. Available in two body styles, Coupe and Convertible, this is one of Jaguars’ most popular and most desired vehicles. The official Jaguar Website describes the XK as being “powerful, contemporary and extremely well appointed”, which in all fairness is a pretty good and accurate description of a car that has clearly been made to the finest of engineering specifications. With a 5.0 litre V8 engine at the disposal of its drivers, the Jaguar XK really is a powerful unit. For so long used Jaguar cars were for a certain type of audience but over the last few years the company has had a change in strategy for their promotion, which the XK has very much been a part of.
